How the quotes were verified
- Re-checked live on 2026-10-12: 18 sources (VA.gov pages, National Cemetery Administration pages, VA Forms 40-1330 and 40-1330M, and eCFR sections). Every quote attributed to them was found word for word.
- Verified against an Internet Archive capture on 2026-10-12: The FTC Funeral Rule (consumer article) (capture dated 2026-09-13); Buying a Cemetery Site (consumer article) (capture dated 2026-06-16); Funeral Costs and Pricing Checklist (consumer article) (capture dated 2026-07-18); Complying with the Funeral Rule (business guide) (capture dated 2026-07-13). This shows the text is in that capture; it doesn't show the text is still on the live ftc.gov page, which didn't answer automated requests. The FTC consumer articles show July 2012 as their date.
